About Ming Dynasty

The Ming dynasty was a Chinese dynasty that ruled from 1368 to 1644. It was founded by Zhu Yuanzhang, a former peasant who overthrew the Mongol Yuan dynasty. The Ming dynasty is known for its cultural achievements, such as the development of a rich literary tradition, the expansion of the imperial examination system, the construction of the Forbidden City and the Great Wall, and the sponsorship of naval expeditions led by Zheng He. The Ming dynasty eventually collapsed in 1644, when a rebel army led by Li Zicheng captured Beijing and the last Ming emperor committed suicide.
